The central bloom here rises higher than in the smaller version, flanked by two broad leaves that lift the whole cluster off the band. Twelve smaller flowers surround it at different heights, some brushed, some sharply ridged, all of it settled over a pierced lattice base that shows through in patches. Nothing about the arrangement is even. It reads the way a garden actually looks, crowded and a little unplanned.
