This Buddha isn't carved into a uniform block — the natural contour and warm russet coloring of the nephrite are left visible, worked with rather than against. The result feels less manufactured and more discovered, like the figure was already somewhere inside the stone. Fine detail in the robes and features shows through a smooth, tactile finish.
