The band runs smooth and unbroken along most of its length, catching light in a soft brushed finish. Near the opening, each end is capped with a small meander pattern, and a koi hangs suspended between them, tail flaring wide beneath a pair of small diamonds set at its head. The rest of the band is left entirely plain, letting the koi carry the piece's only detail.
