The fleur-de-lis has carried associations of rank and refinement for centuries, its three-petaled form appearing on crests long before it appeared on a hand. Here it alternates around the band with small set stones, each section milgrain-edged so the light catches in tiny points along the metal. The pattern doesn't build toward a single focal point. It simply continues, evenly, all the way around.
