A single peony fills most of the medallion's face, its petals layered and ridged against a finely textured background. Above it, a small crowned accent breaks from the gold entirely, a turquoise cabochon set at the center of its own miniature flower. The color interrupts the piece only once, and only briefly, before the eye returns to the bloom below.
